Port Hadlock Home Invasion Suspect Captured
December 10, 2009

On 11-20-2009 at approximately 0800hrs, a Port Hadlock resident was awakened by someone knocking on his window.  The resident recognized the man from having bought  and sold items in the past from him from the internet site, “Craig’s List”.  Having had numerous contacts with the man, the resident allowed the man inside his home.  At that point, the man robbed the resident at gunpoint, threatening to shoot and kill the man if he did not comply with his demands.  The suspect then forced the resident to tie himself up with wire ties, placing tape over his eyes and mouth.  While the suspect proceeded to steal and load the victim’s property into his vehicle, the victim freed himself and locked the suspect out of the home.  The suspect fled the scene, leaving his handgun inside the residence.  The victim identified 27 year old, Marco A. Roman, as the suspect.

On 12-03-2009, JCSO Sergeants Mike Stringer and Ben Stamper, JCSO Detective Mark Apeland, and OPNET Detective Jim Vorhies went to Seattle area, where they conducted an investigation on the whereabouts of Marcus Roman.  That investigation eventually led the team to a residence in the Renton area, where Marco A. Roman was spotted leaving his residence, and was subsequently taken into custody.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence, and the investigators located and seized  the victim’s stolen handgun, one of the victim’s stolen computers, duct tape, and wire ties.

Roman A. Marco is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on the charges of Kidnapping 1, Robbery 1, Assault 1, Theft 1, and Theft Of A Firearm.
