Firearms

Both state and federal laws govern the use of firearms. Here in Washington, most state firearm laws are found in the Revised Code of Washington (RCW Chapter 9.41) while many federal laws and regulations are listed in the United States Code. Although these two legal reference sources are informative, they are not all-inclusive, and additional firearm restrictions apply in certain cases.

Fingerprinting

fingerprintFingerprinting for purposes other than criminal matters may take place on Tuesdays during the normal business hours. To obtain fingerprints, it will be necessary for you to provide fingerprint cards (except for the purpose of a concealed pistol license) and picture ID. There is a $5 fee for per fingerprint card. Fingerprinting is done at the Justice Center, 79 Elkins Road, Port Hadlock.

Internet Fraud

Internet Fraud has become a serious concern for everyone that utilizes email, auctions and on-line shopping. Since it is often difficult to establish a jurisdiction for fraud complaints occurring on the internet, the Internet Fraud Complaint Center has been established. It is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center. This organization provides a resource for understanding Internet Fraud and a system for filing complaints of Internet Fraud.

Methamphetamine Information

According to the National Institute on Drug Addiction (NIDA) Methamphetamine is an addictive stimulant drug that strongly activates certain systems in the brain. Methamphetamine is chemically related to amphetamine, but the central nervous system effects of methamphetamine are greater. Both drugs have some limited therapeutic uses, primarily in the treatment of obesity.
