On 12-15-10, at approximately 10:30 PM, JeffCom 911 received a 911 call from an adult female who identified herself as "Evelyn." Evelyn told the dispatcher she had just killed her husband and was going to shoot herself. The call was then disconnected. JeffCom identified the call as coming from the World Mark Resort in Discovery Bay, Port Townsend, Washington.

Jefferson County Deputies were dispatched and arrived on scene about eight minutes after the call was received. Deputies knocked on the door and after receiving no answer the door was forced open. Located inside the condo were 74 year old Leron C. Carroll and 70 year old Evelyn Carroll, husband and wife, both from La Center, Washington. They were both conscious and each had a single gunshot wound to the chest. A .38 caliber revolver was recovered from the scene. There was no evidence of a struggle.

Leron and Evelyn were attended to by aid personnel and transported from the scene by ambulance. Both expired en route to the hospital.

Next of kin advised that Leron was terminally ill and that he was a member of the World Mark Resort time share condos.

At this point the incident is being considered a murder-suicide. Detectives are continuing to investigate.
