Kitsap County Robbery Suspects Captured in Jefferson County
On August 3rd, 2010, at approximately 0945 hours, The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a high speed pursuit originating in Kitsap County. Reportedly a Kitsap County Deputy was in pursuit of robbery suspects who were driving a black Nissan sedan, until the KCSO Deputy had to discontinue the pursuit due to dangerous driving conditions. The suspect vehicle crossed the Hood Canal Bridge at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour as it traveled west on State Route 104. Law enforcement lost sight of the suspect vehicle shortly after crossing into Jefferson County.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Washington State Patrol converged on the area and began setting up a perimeter. Minutes later, a tip was received from a caller that stated they saw the suspect vehicle make a high speed hard right turn onto Garten Road, just a couple miles west of the Hood Canal Bridge.
An extensive search of the Garten Road area did not locate the Robbery suspects. Minutes later, Sheriff Tony Hernandez located the two suspects parked in their vehicle on Hubbard Creek Road, which is private dirt roadway just west of Garten Road. The male and female suspects, identified as 24 year old Shaydon Casey Childers, and 24 year old Farrah G. Chaussee, were taken into custody by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies after a brief struggle.
The two suspects were interviewed, and later turned over to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and later booked on charges of Robbery 2nd Degree and Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle.
