Michael John Pierce Sentenced for Yarr Murders

On May 24th, 2010, Michael John Pierce appeared in Jefferson County Superior Court for sentencing on his recent convictions for the murders of Pat and Janice Yarr of Quilcene. Superior Court Judge Craddock Verser presided. After allowing family members to address the court, Judge Verser handed down the "exceptional" sentence of 1415 months, or nearly 118 years of total confinement with the Department of Corrections on convictions of; Two counts of Murder in the 1st Degree, Robbery in the 1st Degree, Burlgary in the 1st Degree, Arson in the 1st Degree, Theft of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Theft in the 2nd Degree.
