Volunteers are very important to the animals at JCAS and helps JCAS achieve our goals. You have the option of spending as little as 6 hours a month visiting the shelter or everyday! We can always use the help.

Volunteers assist Animal Care Staff by walking dogs, grooming animals, socializing cats, kittens and puppies and assisting where needed. Volunteers can also become Foster Parents for animals that have not yet been adopted. A Foster Parent's commitment can be anywhere from 2 - 10 weeks.

Please contact us at 360.385.3292 if you wish to Volunteer or become a Foster Parent.

Olympic Mountain Pet Pals (OMPP) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to reducing animal homelessness through their spay/neuter program for low-income residents' pet cats and dogs and through their TNR program for feral cats. OMPP also has a Pets to People program and a READ program. Check out OMPP's website for more information.

OMPP and JCAS are in the process of establishing an official volunteer program for the shelter. Information will be posted on this site as it becomes available. In the meantime, if you are interested in volunteering, please contact either the shelter at 385-3292 or the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 385-3831.
