Transcript Orders

Party placing order must know the case name, case number and date of hearing requested. If only a portion of a hearing is requested that information needs to be very specific. Cost is $3.95 per page or $4.25 per page expedited. If a second copy is requested or if estimate is for a non-indigent appeal estimate will include a second copy, it will be provided at $1 per page. An estimate will be prepared by the Superior Court Administrator with the following formula:

Tape

Figured at a tape count per tape of 0 to 3,500. A count of about 50 equals 1 page of typed transcript, i.e., a full tape would be approximately 70 pages. 2 pages will be added to the estimate to include the first page and certification page.

CD

Multiply total minutes multiplied by, .83, round up to next whole number, add 2 pages (first and last) and multiply by either the non-expedited or expedited rate listed above.

Receiving the Transcript

The Electronic Court Reporter will not begin work on the transcript until the entire estimate is paid into the registry of the court. This is only an estimate. Upon completion of the transcript the ordering party will be billed for balance remaining or refunded for excess paid. The transcript can be picked up when any remaining balance is paid in full.

Under normal circumstances, a transcript will be available within 3 weeks. If the transcript is required before that time period, you should request the expedited process. Expedited transcripts will normally be available within one week, depending on size.

All orders are to be placed by contacting the Jefferson County Superior Court Administrator at 360-385-9360.
