July 30, 2004
On July 30, 2004, at approximately 1:31 PM, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Fulton Creek Road residence, in Brinnon, WA, following a report that a 12 year old girl was the victim of a gunshot wound to the head.
Brinnon Fire Dept. medical personnel were also dispatched to the scene and the girl was subsequently airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Her condition is not known at the time of this release.
Preliminary reports indicate the girl was at home with her 13 and 14 year old brothers. The children were reported to be playing with a semi-automatic pistol when it discharged, striking the girl in the head.
Jefferson
County Sheriff’s Office deputies are continuing to investigate
at the scene of the incident.
