Jefferson Sheriff’s Office Places Jail Information on Internet

The Jefferson County Jail has joined Snohomish and Pierce County in making information on current inmate population available on the internet. The web site allows visitors to the web site to check the current inmate population.

The site is updated every day with inmates' names, charges and bail amounts. The list contains everyone who is being held in the jail, usually between 50 and 60 inmates. The information available is all a matter of public record.

Besides helping individuals, the service should cut down on the number of calls jail employees field every day from the public asking who's in jail. It will provide a quick opportunity for someone to check to see if an overdue friend or family member may have taken a detour, but confirm that they are safe.
