Washington Traffic Safety Commission
Awards Sheriff’s Office $5,000 Grant
October 8, 2003

With the help of a $5,000 grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, the Jefferson County Child Passenger Safety team has acquired the use of a 1996 Ford Windstar van. The van was purchased locally from Port Townsend Courtesy Ford and will be used for child passenger safety and bicycle safety projects throughout the county.

Traffic safety decals will be added to the white van with the help of a grant from the Washington Safety Restraint Coalition. Port Town Kiwanis has kindly donated $500 and other companies have promised donations to help support the program.
