Sheriff
Mike Brasfield has announced that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s
Office will be adjusting staff deployment for the south county.
Effective Monday, March 10th, he is transferring Detective Debbie
Kronk from the Hadlock Sheriff’s Office to the Quilcene
Annex, located at 61 Herbert Street. Detective Kronk’s assignment
to the south county area will be in addition to the regular uniformed
staffing that the Sheriff’s Office provides the area. Detective
Kronk will continue to handle her regular investigative responsibilities,
but will provide an in-person presence and resource to south county
residents. The telephone number for the Quilcene Annex is 360-765-4069.
In addition,
clerical support for Harvest Permits, Fingerprinting, Incident
Reports, Concealed Pistol Permits, Child Car Seat inspections,
Traffic Safety School applications, etc. will also be available
at the Quilcene Annex by the assignment of Administrative Aide
Akylina Lee on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Debbie
Kronk brings over 24 years of Law Enforcement experience. She
has been working as a detective investigating cases involving
crimes against children, and has experience and training at state
and federal levels. As a Seattle Police Department Detective,
Kronk worked Burglary, Vice, Special Assault (sexual assault),
and Narcotics including a Federal Narcotics Task force with training
at the FBI academy in Quantico VI.
She has
participated in the Law Enforcement Roundtable and served on boards
of organizations such as Washington State Narcotics Investigators.
Deputy Kronk received training from the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children specializing in Internet crimes against
children. She worked on a Federal task force investigating child
pornography and exploitation of children.
Through
parent teacher organizations and 4-H she teaches parents and community
members how to identify Internet crimes. She has also taught law
enforcement how to investigate these crimes. Currently, Deputy
Kronk is a team member of ORCA (Organized Response to Child Abuse)
and other county teams. Deputy Kronk brings a multitude of criminal
investigative skills and resources to the county.
She is
involved in community organizations, festivals and markets. She
likes to camp, fish, grow lavender and make soaps and lotions.
Deputy Kronk is self-motivated, flexible and organized and likes
to involve people to make community decisions based on a team
effort. She has already reached out to some the South County community
organizations and leaders to solicit their support in establishing
a Sheriff’s Office Annex aimed at long-term success.
