Investigators continue to look into leads on the assault. Search warrants have been served at the residence of the victim and the vehicle the suspect was reported to have arrived at and left from the Garden Court Apartments. Deputies seized the vehicle from the Chimacum High School parking lot yesterday when the three students were taken into custody. The vehicle was impounded at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have leads that indicate the assault may have been drug related. The victim did have a physician’s letter for medical use of marijuana.

The suspect arrested yesterday is Justin R. Brown, 20 years old, of Port Hadlock. Brown made an initial appearance in Jefferson County Superior Court today and was ordered held for 72 hours on $20,000 cash bail. He continues to be held in the Jefferson County Jail.
